Rosbud Farm Touring Park - Guestbook

  1. Thank you Jon and Terri for a wonderful 10 day holiday. We enjoyed lovely panoramic views across the valley, excellent facilities (the best we've ever had!) and really welcomed all the help and tips that Jon offered when we were setting up our caravan. Lots to do in the surrounding area, including walks and cycling directly from the site. A very peaceful, tranquil site with high standards of security. Can't wait to come again! Definitely 10/10 to a very friendly, welcoming couple.

  2. We stayed at Rosebud and it’s obvious that Jon and Terri are passionate about their campsite. Jon showed us around and told us to choose where we wanted to park our van. The toilets and showers are immaculate, the views are amazing and our little dog was free to walk without a lead in the huge grass area. If you want peace and quiet without any fuss this is the campsite for you. Definitely go back, thank you Jon and Terri.

  3. What a great campsite! Amazing views from our pitch, fantastic showers and toilet facilities, the most luxurious and clean I’ve ever seen on a campsite. Jon and Terri gave us a very warm welcome and we were even given a choice of pitch during our welcome tour of the site. Jon’s knowledge of the area is above and beyond any google search, I highly recommend asking him for the best way to go or recommendations of things to do. We only had a short stay at Rosebud farm, but made the most of it with several walks and cycle rides to the many breath taking sights and attractions situated close by.
We will definitely return again next year. Thank you Jon and Terri, we had a lovely time.

  4. Excellent two night stay at a well run, well maintained campsite. Toilet/shower block one of the cleanest I’ve seen in many years of camping.
As for the owners, very friendly and Jon’s encyclopaedic knowledge of the roads in and around the area was very impressive.
Everyone we spoke to was very friendly and chatty and I think that came from the sites relaxed and quiet vibe. Felt quite guilty starting up the Harleys.
    Would certainly recommend this site.

  7. Just spent a week on this site, which we thoroughly enjoyed. No problems with the rules and covid prevention methods.
Clean and tidy bathroom. John and Terri offered a very warm and welcoming stay. John's knowledge of the area was very helpful for days out. We will be going back again.

  9. Thank you Terri and Jon for providing us with the best facilities and site stewardship for our camping stay. This site provides couples with a quiet and relaxing camping break, great for dogs too. Rules are there to facilitate a peaceful break. Perfect for us, not for all nighters or groups.

  10. Stayed at Rosebud for 2 nights and we wish we would’ve booked longer! Such a lovely site and Jon and Terri were so lovely and welcoming, it felt like they couldn’t help you enough. We were extremely thankful for the friendly welcome and pointers of what to do while we were staying in the area. Unfortunately we couldn’t do everything but we will definitely be back, for longer next time!! The facilities here were the best we have both used. Very clean and up to date. We loved that the hosts were so mindful of covid guidelines.

Thank you so much for having us. We will definitely be returning!

  11. Our first visit to Rosbud Farm and it will certainly not be our last.
Jon and Terri gave us a very warm welcome and kept asking if we were happy before they took any money.
Great site with facilities of a very high standard. Wi-Fi available across the whole site but on occasions it was a bit patchy..
Jon and Terri were always around with a smile and friendly wave.
A very relaxing and friendly atmosphere, and we really enjoyed our stay.
Only one negative and that is the road noise in the morning and evening, but that is out of the sites control, and it certainly wont stop us becoming a BBF.
Jon and Terry went out of their way upon our departure to check we has enjoyed our visit. well the answer is YES Thank you both very much

  12. We had a wonderful stay at Rosebud Farm, amazing views, spotless, well organised facilities, and helpful owners. Our dog LOVED the field in front of the pitches to run about off lead to his hearts content. We had the most relaxed stay, and out of the other 3 sites we stayed at, this was the best. Can not wait to return in 2021. Thank you.

  13. Just spent a relaxing 5 nights at Rosebud Farm. We received a warm welcome from Jon & Terri which includes a short walk around the site to have the rules and facilities explained to you, you can then pick your pitch and get set up.
The site has level pitches giving you an amazing view of the surrounding area, it also has a large football pitch sized area to exercise your dog,
Toilet facilities were 3 toilets 3 showers 3 sinks and with current covid compliance rules - ring the door bell - works great. Constant hot water and always found to be spotless.
Jon has a wealth of information that he enjoys sharing with you about the area and we enjoyed the peace and quiet that Jon and Terri aim for on site. We didn't spend much time on site during the day as spent it walking, but the evenings were peaceful.
The other campers were friendly, chatty which was welcoming. Some of the rules have been commented on, for example the gates being locked and 'noise' but this wasn't an issue for us as we understand the reasons to lock the gate is to maintain the quiet time between 11pm and 9am - so if you want to be up and leaving at 6am - this isn't the site for you.
The only improvement to make would be the addition of a pot washing area - however the site is on a private drainage and it does state this on the website.
Free wifi too and reasonable site fees.

  14. Where to start, we booked at short notice (work commitments) and decided to take a chance camping during the restriction, we need not had worried as from our arrival visitor safety is paramount with precautions in place to make you feel safe and secure at all times.

The site was fantastic, large well-kept flat pitches with the most beautiful views over the Cornish countryside in a warm and friendly atmosphere that allows you to relax and really take time out from a hectic work/life schedule. The modern shower and toilet block is immaculate and cleaned on a regular basis, excellent facilities!!!

This is an adults only and exceptionally dog friendly site with rules and regulations to ensure all campers enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay. It is refreshing to see the owners (Jon and Terri) prioritise tranquility and relaxation over profit. The gates are closed between 11pm and 9am so that you are not woken at "stupid o'clock" by people trying to get on the road early - you have until 12-midday to leave your pitch so packing up is less stressful.

Jon and Terri work hard to ensure their guests have an enjoyable and relaxing time, please don't visit and expect "party central " as noise and unsocial behaviour will not be tolerated. Jon is very knowledgable of the local area and suggested some amazing days out that added to our whole holiday experience.

The owners have prioritised rest and recuperation for visitors, they have set high standards in behaviour and facilities for the betterment of their guests - well done.

We will be back along with our dogs next time for another recharge of the batteries and hopefully we will see Terri's new summerhouse at this gem of a site!!!

Thank you both for the warm welcome.

  16. Wow.

It looked good on the website, but when you get to Rosebud be ready for fabulous views, a warm welcome and a very relaxed stay. Terri and John run a great site. It's very well maintained, and a marvelous jumping off point for all sorts of great trips... that's if you don't decide to stay and just soak up those views and chill... Thanks for a great stay... 18. I'm not sure how we stumbled across this wonderful site, but myself, my wife Jo and our Vizsla's Max and Maja were all elated that we did. We intended a single or possibly two night stay on our tour around the coast, but stayed for three as we were made to feel so welcome by Jon and Terri. The site is run with clear cut and very defined rules. The facilities were not only immaculate, but the additional COVID-19 rules were very clear and very workable - gave a very reassuring feeling. The few other guests we met were all very friendly which just added to the whole experience. Oh, and did I mention the quite unbelievable view? Its a 270 degree panorama across North Cornwall and is quite stunning.
This is a definite return to site, thanks so much Jon and Terri :)

  19. First of all I want to thank Jon and Terri, also the wonderful Daisy for a fab few days on this site????.

I cannot complement this site enough. The shower blocks are lovely and smell fresh as a daisy. The grounds are very well maintained and the pitches very spacious all with wonderful views across the valley. There is a huge area for the dogs to run about and play, My pooch loved playing with Daisy the Lab so much that when we moved onto another site (as we were touring around) he seemed to sulk.
Jon and Terri were full of wonderful information and advice what you can do in the area and the pub which was a short walk away was very nice and friendly. All in all a fab 3 nights and we will definitely be back. Please do not change anything

  20. A part of me wanted to keep this amazing site secret but this felt mean and had to share! Where do I start? We booked for 5 days and ended up staying for 12...we rarely do sites as we tend to wild camp once we get the jist of an area but we didn't want to leave! Jon and Terri are the perfect hosts, Jon is the font of all local knowledge and Terri is just delightful! They have rules, yes but run their site on a more common sense approach! Dont ask to come in early, its a no! They are not being awkward but respecting the people who are leaving! The site is beautifully maintained and their shower block is better than my bathroom at home. Everything is quality from the shower curtains, toilet paper and hand wash. We loved their dogs off lead policy as did our dog Wanda who is missing her morning jaunt with daisy!

If you are looking for a beautiful site with amazing views thats in a brilliant location this is the one for you! Cant wait to go back!

What a truly amazing find! Fantastic spotless facilities, stunning panoramic views and lovely dedicated, friendly and helpful owners in Jon & Terri who looked after a lone traveller escaping the tribe at home. 24. This is our third visit to this wonderful camp site. We love the peace and quiet that this site provides, the fact that there are, no children, no groups and they love dogs is one of the reasons we love it so much. When you then add in the views, the lovely couple that run it, Jon & Terri, the scenery, the bathrooms, the walks, the serenity ......a great place to come and relax without hustle and bustle. Please don't ever change what you have achieved. Thank you for another amazing quiet week. Andy and Sharon.

  26. ***FANTASTIC***

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at Rosebud. We cannot thank Jon & Terri enough. It was exactly what we needed. Quiet, clean, gorgeous views and wonderful people. The perfect site for complete calm and quiet. No noisy cars coming or going, no packing up or setting up early or late evening. The shower block is the best I have ever been in and we chose to use the showers rather than shower in our van. We loved the consistency of the "rules". They are there to make sure we get what we paid for. Jon & Terri were always on hand to help with directions, recommendations, biking routes or simply a "how was your day". Jon helped me reverse my caravan onto the pitch as we are new to touring. He also showed me how to level my van quickly. It was absolutely brilliant and he put me at ease. It was lovely to be next to such friendly and respectful people who all wanted the same thing - a quiet holiday. We will certainly be back next year. See you both then. Regards from both of us.

  27. We had a lovely quiet week, fantastic views and very clean and warm shower and loo facilities, really important as we are oldies who still like to use our tent.
Great for the dog as the field was often enough of a walk after a day out.
Enjoyed a couple of meals in the local pub and cafe, good meat from the butchers and a friendly shop for papers, milk and things.
    Thanks Jon and Terri

  44. Our first visit of just ten days wasn’t enough, we enjoyed our stay so much we are planning to come back in September. We had camped at another site in the area which has closed and were delighted to find Rosebud Farm. Wish we'd found this first.

Jon and Terri were so welcoming and friendly we were stunned, we’ve been used to officious or lacklustre owners for so many years. Everything is first rate and couldn’t be improved – how many sites can you say that about?

The views alone would ‘sell’ Rosebud Farm, but when you add tranquillity and peace you have a haven for those who don’t want on-site club houses, music at all hours and youngsters (we sound such grumps, sorry) playing football against the side of the tent – I expect you’ve been to places like that and been happy to leave.

If, instead of the above, you want to relax, here’s the place.

The White Hart serves a great pint and excellent food; the locals are friendly and there’s a big Tesco at Wadebridge for stocking up. Let’s see, what more could we have wanted? Just more time on the site – didn’t like leaving.

  50. As relatively new caravaners we are still exploring the different types of site available and Rosebud farm is somewhere we will definitely visit again, immaculately maintained and with all the amenities you need for a peaceful holiday.
For tourers with dogs, this site would be hard to beat, with the resident dog to play with and fields where they can run off the lead and chase rabbits you are guaranteed a tired, happy dog at the end of the day, while the owners can sit and relax looking out over the fabulous views.
John and Terri were very welcoming and accommodating, from the welcome drink on arrival to any questions we had about the area and suggestions for where we could eat with the dog and where we could visit while we were in the area.
Our first visit but definitely not our last!

  51. As a couple getting on in years and wondering whether we should still be camping we decided to give it one last go. Found Jon and Terri's site on the internet, read the reviews and decided to give it a go. Let me say, we enjoyed the experience and have decided to camp again next year but perhaps a little earlier than October when the weather is warmer. We found the site with no problems and were greeted by Jon and a much needed cup of tea! Jon advised the best pitch for us because it was going to be windy so shelter was needed. Close to the excellent toilet block, never seen anything so 'posh' and clean in all our camping days, great view of the valley and loads of advice, info on the area etc., we couldn't go wrong. Terri joined us to say hello. Jon and Terri are lovely people, very friendly and will help you in any way they can. If we are down in Cornwall next year we will certainly call in on this site again. It is so peaceful and relaxing to stay here which is what we were looking for. Ten out of ten we say. Thank you Jon and Terri, you helped make our camping experience enjoyable and lead us to give it another go next year. We're not quite ready to part with the tent yet!

  54. We have just returned from Rosebud farm, and what a lovely place it is!. The quietness and beauty of the campsite is so lovely. This is just the kind of campsite we like! We don't own a dog, but most couples did, and we were thinking "oh no, all the barking etc" but to our amazement, the dogs were so quiet! This is a really friendly site with lovely owners who take a pride in their site. They offer tea/coffee on arrival which was most appreciated after a 6 hour drive. If you want a noisy and rough campsite don't book Rosebud! The shower block is beautiful, clean, and very modern. We will certainly stay here next time we are in North Cornwall.

  55. I have just come back from a fantastic weekend at Jon and Terri's. For a little background, I am currently working through my bucket list and visiting Port Isaac was on that list. I thought two birds with one stone as I have never been camping, so at the grand old age 38 I packed up a tent and off I went. Everything about Rosebud was easy from the booking to directions and when I arrived the view took my breath away, its beautiful! I was shown around the campsite, which is maintained in an impeccable manner. The pitches were really spacious, plenty of room for your car and tent. I had opted for a non electric pitch and had forgotten that my mattress needed to be blown up, this was not a problem and Jon was able to provide an extension lead for me to do that. The campsite actually has wi-fi, it wasn't super fast but who wants to be on the internet when the views are that spectacular! The gates are locked between 11pm and 9am, as someone camping on my own this was great as I felt very safe and not at all worried about being on my own. All the other campers were really friendly and not at all intrusive, there really good amount of space between pitches. Its only an 8 minute drive to Port Isaac and 30 minute drive to Wadebridge Tesco to stock up on goodies. I had an amazing time, I will definitely be going back next year and for longer. I highly recommend this campsite!

Welcoming, flat pitch, wonderful facilities with plenty of showers and toilets which were sparkling and a view to die for! Only downside was the unpredictable British weather as our time was mainly overcast and drizzly..... Tintagel and port Isaac are a must as well as wide mouth beach!!! I have just got round to planning this years holidays and remembered how useless I am and am hoping that Jon and Terri will let me come back again! Had the best time at Rosebud Farm and the views from our pitch were breathtaking. The location is ideal for visiting beauty spots and the facilities on-site were more than adequate, although I believe that there is now an improved shower block which I am very excited to try out! Both myself, Chris and our dog Tia loved every minute of our stay with you and are all hoping to be allowed to come back again! Thank you Jon and Terri for making us feel so welcome!

We stayed with our 2 labradors at easter and what a treat. Welcomed with a cuppa tea on arrival, which was lovely after a long drive. The views are fantast, the shower blocks are luxurious and the quiet, peacefulness is a treat after long days out walking the beautiful countryside. Can't wait to go back and thank you Jon & Terri for providing exactly what you advertise x

Bounce and Tom (collie and lab respectively) thoroughly enjoyed their holiday too - able to enjoy the space and able to run around and not annoy other people!!!

Thanks John and Terri - apologises for the time it has taken to write.

  70. This was an excellent site for adult couples, seeking the peace and tranquillity of the Cornish countryside. There is plenty of open space to run the dogs and the wild life of Rabbits and bird was a delight to watch. John and Terri were very nice hosts and very helpful to anyone starting out with caravanning / Motor-home holidays. The site is located in an ideal position for travelling and exploring the North Cornish coast line and is close to Delabole for the local amenities. Definitely worth a visit and will go again. .

Slept like a baby all week everyone respecting the rules and other guests. Wish there were more like this across the country. I would recommend it and will be returning.

  73. What a fab campsite if you are after a true camping experience i.e peaceful, laid back and run by a very friendly couple. We were greeted with a cup of tea on arrival and reminded of the rules - no visitors, groups & to show consideration for other campers. We didn't need hook up in our campervan so had part of the field to ourselves - much to Pip's (our border collie) approval. Jon & Terri even arranged great weather for us for the 4 nights we were there! Camping under the Milky Way is highly recommended! We look forward to returning :-)

  74. Last weekend we had the pleasure of staying at this delightful site. Although the weather was very mixed we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this Cornish gem. It is the perfect spot for couples and their dogs. With its acres of field for the dogs to exercise, the magnificent views and the high quality toilet and shower block. A peaceful and trouble free stay is assured by the very reasonable site rules. Jon and Terri are friendly and welcoming hosts of a very well run site Thank you, we will be back.

  75. If you read the rules for this site when booking you won't be dissapointed. A truly quiet haven with spectacular views and breathtaking star views at night. John & Terri are very friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Yes it is quiet but that is the whole idea of the site which is why John & Terri only allow couples and not groups, families for this reason. The new shower block is fantastic it is like having your own hotel bathroom. The site is dog friendly with a large field for them to exercise. Millie certainly enjoyed her little run around.
This site is perfect if you want to get away from the hustle & bustle if daily life and is a great base for exploring the North Cornwall coast with Padstow, Port Issac, Tintagel & Trebarwith Strand only a short drive away. The cup of tea on arrival was very welcome after a long drive. We will definetly be returning next year and this site is a credit to John & Terri's hard work to keep it well maintained, quiet and peaceful. Thanks for a lovely couple of days look forward to seeing you both next year. Carrie, Bill & Millie

John & Terri were really welcoming when we arrived and were very helpful throughout the week whenever we had questions to do with directions, recommending places to eat & drink etc. Hope to stay here again next time we visit North Cornwall. After 45 years of coming to cornwall and actually being an assistant manager of a campsite myself we can not praise this place enough . The owners John and terri can't do enough to help people out and they have this place run expertly .yes it's adults only and yes there are a few rules but once you have been and understand why you will love this place . Not being able to start your car till 9 am is something I frowned upon till I was here BUT MY GOD this has made my holiday . It makes you relax more and not get into that rush about mode we all have really grateful for that . Many thanks guys and we will be back .

  79. What a lovely welcome we received! A nice cuppa after a 7 hour journey and a walk round the stunning site and allowed to pick our pitch. We felt very special but everyone gets the same treatment. The showers and toilets wouldn't look out of place in a boutique hotel. We had a lovely peaceful week away from our stressful jobs but don't come here if you can't keep quiet. Thankfully you would be asked to leave. It's a great place for dogs too. We didn't strike too lucky with the weather. It was very windy and rained a few days but we didn't care. Well you can't in this country or you would never do anything. Wished we lived a bit nearer as it is definitely a favourite thanks to Terri and Jon.

  85. Just back from an 11 day stay with Jon & Terri at Rosebud Farm and we are missing it already! Jon & Terri are so friendly and did everything they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The cup of tea was very welcome after a long 5 1/2 hour journey and our dogs could not have been made more welcome. The site was lovely and the new toilet block amazing. Rosebud Farm is in a beautiful location with stunning views. The local pub was lovely and very friendly and once again welcomed our dogs. We were amazed at how dog friendly places were in this part of the world and it was interesting to note on our travels around the area that the busiest restaurants and bars were the ones which allowed dogs! The Krab Pot in Port Isaac is fantastic and the food amazing - they even offer handmade dog biscuits and doggie ice cream - simply heaven for our two labs. Jon and Terri clearly love what they do and although it was our first visit it definitely wont be our last. Thank you Jon and Terri for a lovely relaxing holiday.

  93. Hello Jon and Terri, We stayed with you in late September and apologise for the tardiness of our comments, life has not stopped since our return! However the memories of our very first holiday in our tourer have kept us going during these busy months. We really can't thank you enough for making us feel so welcome and helping us as we set up. We had one of our most relaxing holiday EVER and couldn't have picked a better site for our first caravanning holiday. Fabulous views, super facilities, near enough to the local shops and take-away, we were spoilt. We cannot wait to return and neither can our dogs who enjoyed having two huge fields to run free - happy woofers = happy owners. Thank you! Hope you're all well and all the best for 2015.

  96. On first arrival we were greeted by Terri and immediately went and made us a nice cup of tea and coffee, which was appreciated especially after nearly a six hour drive. We sat on the bench having our drinks looking at the lovely view over the fields and the only noise coming from a few sheep and the odd car which didn't bother us at all. After we had finished Terri took us for a tour around the two fields and explained that we were under no obligation to stay if we didn't like the look of it (at this point we still hadn't paid) and showed us the toilet and shower block and the new one that is under construction still.
We had decided that we were going to stay as soon as we arrived because for us it was perfect, nice weather, perfect view, no noise and Jon & Terri were the perfect hosts and a pub just a five minute drive away and definitely worth a visit. This place is highly recommended and we will be returning especially as it is worth every penny.

Thankyou Jon & Terri for making our holiday as enjoyable as it was

From the warm welcome to the cheery wave goodbye It was a very relaxing stay, just right for taking part in the 'Not so serious swim' at Port Gaverne the following day. The views are stunning, the facilities good (expected to be even better when the new shower block is completed). And for dogs it must be like paradise with more space than you can shake, or even chuck, a stick at.

  114. Rosebud Farm Touring Park is quite unlike any other touring campsites we've experienced. We have never before been welcomed by campsite owners with a cup of tea / coffee and a 'getting to know you chat'; like visiting new friends.

Terri and Jon took time to explain the history and philosophy of their site; their plans for developing it further and were obviously interested in hearing about our motorhome experiences. They showed us round the site and suggested a pitch that would accommodate our motorhome, car and trailer. It was a terrific pitch, with all the essentials close at hand (electricity, water, waste) that satisfied us completely. As glampers, rather than campers, that's quite something.

This is an adults only site, which we were happy about, with a very friendly attitude to dogs. There was plenty of free space on the lower part of the site where they could roam and play free, subject to adequate control by owners. Our two yorkies loved it.

The views across the hills from our pitch was breathtaking.

The toilet block was spotless and perfectly adequate even if temporary. A new, permanent block is nearing completion which will include a laundry room.

We stayed at Rosebud Farm as a stopover visit to Cornwall, on our way home from 12 weeks touring in France. It was a relaxing and peaceful stay. I can imagine this as a place and site we'd return to for a longer, more relaxing stay in the future.

The site is well situated in St Teath for Port Isaac (Doc Martin's Portwenn), Padstow, Tintagell and Bodmin; an excellent area - well worth a visit.

This was made complete by perfect hosts - Jon & Terri. The complimentary cuppa on arrival was very welcome and guided tour plus choice of and pitches a refreshing change.
The adults only policy made for a peaceful stay and although there were dogs about, they were all well controlled, kept away from tents & caravans. All owners also cleaned up as requested.
Showers and toilets always clean & loads of hot water. New central shower block will bring facilities bang up to date.
Well done Jon & Terri, your peaceful haven is a credit to you as is your policy of not overcrowding in pursuit of profit. We would (and have) gladly recommend Rosebud Farm to everyone. Hope to visit again soon.

you are close to the local village which has a small shop, butcher and I have to mention the White Hart pub which offer amazing pub grub and the landlord Barry was a real star.

so to sum our stay at Rosebud farm

AMAZING, 5 Star campsite with no screaming kids running around

thank you to Jon and Terri

    would/will we visit again

    HELL YES

  136. This is an excellent site, John and Terri are lovely owners and have worked hard to maintain their facilities. We had a relaxing time and we enjoyed it immensely. It was also good that we could let our Bulldog off his lead.
We hope the new build goes well and we may see you next year..

  137. Spent 3 nights at this lovely site on our first camping trip. The views are fantastic and being an adult only site it was lovely and quiet. The facilities were always clean. The proprietors, Jon and Terri, were very welcoming and helpful. When the new facilities are completed and up and running this will be a fabulous site. We look forward to visiting again next year.

  139. Spent seven nights here and had a fantastic time, this adult only site in a spectacular location with views second to none. Dogs run free but I cant see the problem with that as it does say on the website. Bathroom facilities are adequate but very clean, a new block is currently under construction, even the building of this did not disrupt or stay. The biggest complement we can give to Terri and Jon is that we forgot to go home and ended up staying one night longer than planned, all of which was handled with Jons normal humour. Thanks for a lovely stay, good luck with your proposed plans.

The toilets and showers were spotless. For those seeking an adult only, dog friendly site with no overcrowding, this is the perfect site for you. We will definately be returning very soon. Thank you once again Terri and Jon, hope to see you soon!

Many of the campers and caravans are returning year after year which says it all! To anyone else reading this please don't go here as we want to guarantee a place when we book next time.

  146. This campsite is exactly as described. although the facilities are minimal, they were always clean and there was rarely a queue. I know that a new shower block is imminent so this will undoubtably be welcome. the views are amazing and the site is quiet. It was very refreshing to be able to let our dog run freely down the field and as she is nervous I was pleased that most people kept their dogs under control so that ours could walk and play in peace. It was nice to get back to basics with washing up at our tent and I actually really enjoyed the simplicity of it! I also really liked the picnic benches that are dotted around for an afternoon drink and look at the view.
The location is excellent for visiting most of the best that Cornwall has to offer and I would recommend it. Jon and Terri made us feel welcome and although we didn't partake in the welcome tea and chat they were very helpful with suggestions and local information when we asked.

This is an adults only site which is dog friendly. Being an adult only site ensured our stay was peaceful and relaxing. The weather was fantastic with hardly a cloud to be seen. The views from our caravan were far fetching and unspoilt. This site is the best we have had the pleasure of staying at made all the better by the hosts Jon and Terri once again thank you x"

  151. Unbelievably Good!!

Jon and Terri are hugely welcoming and take the utmost care of their guests; from the welcoming tea, to checking on the tents in the rain and even offering a lift to the local pub and back for a traditional, warming supper we felt hosted throughout.

The site was extremely well maintained, and the second field was very sheltered, almost removing the wind and creating quite the sun-trap! The only drawback of this was the longer walk to the toilet block, but the views over the valley with the wind farm on the horizon were truly picturesque, and looking at this as we walked over made us care a lot less! The adults-only, quiet nature of the site really made our holiday just the type of relaxing break we were after.

The lovely fishing village of Port Isaac, the castle at Tintagel, and the views of the Rocky Valley & St Nectan's Glen are all close by, and walks around these areas have given us some really unforgettable memories, and amazing photographs too!

Overall this is a very good value site and we had an excellent stay - cannot recommend highly enough.

  152. We were unsure whether to leave a review or not as we didn't want a vast array of campers booking their future holidays at Rosebud Farm only because we don't want them taking up our space when we plan to visit again! However, because John and Terri are two of the nicest people you could wish to meet, we couldn't pass this chance to praise them and their site. How many camp sites offer such a warm welcome accompanied by a cup of tea on arrival and departure? The site was impeccable and it was fun watching husband and wife team driving ride on mowers - (Terri was a bit of a orofessional at cutting the grass!). Toilets and showers were spotless too! As this was Ben's first visit to Cornwall, the superb camp site and truly hospitable owners made our week's stay a memorable one! Best ever site we've stayed at and will be booking two more stays next year! (Whoever is thinking about staying at Rosebud Farm, you will love it there - but keep off our pitch!

  154. Our stay was only for 3 nights over the Bank Holiday weekend but it was enough for us to decide we will be staying here again. Jon and Terri could not be more helpful and friendly, instantly making us feel welcome on arrival. The main reason for booking was that its adults only. Nothing whatsoever against children but we prefer to be able to relax not have to listen to harassed parents shouting at their offspring. We were a little worried about no hard standing as we have had problems on a couple of occasions with wet soggy ground. However due to the situation of the site it appears to be very free draining and we had no problems whatsoever. The panoramic view from the main field is awesome, has to be the best ever for a campsite. The toilets and showers are a little basic but adequate. We are assured that planning permission for a new shower and toilet block has been obtained and construction will be started once a contractor has been found.

    Just To Clarify.

As of the 1st Jan 2013, we have changed to an adult only site.

  165. We enjoyed a two week stay at rosebud farm at the beginning of august, it was exactly what we look for when camping, a peaceful field with bathroom facilities. What more do you need! On arriving John &Terri welcome you with a cuppa which is so needed after a mammoth journey down. They will then walk you around the site and help you to choose your pitch, they make you feel at home straight away. The site is well placed for exploring, we drove out most days to various places; newquay, mevagissey, fowey, clovelly & on the doorstep is tintagel, boscastle, & port isaac, home of the brilliant fisherman's friends and also doc martin...all gorgeous places. But our most favourite place was trebarwith strand, just a couple of miles drive, myself and my daughter both loved it here especially now we like to think of ourselves as surfer dudes, some great waves to catch down there, fab!! Will definitely be returning to rosebud farm. Thanks again john & terri, we had a great time x

  167. We have just returned from two weeks away staying at Rosebud Farm. I must say the welcome we had when we arrived was amazing, this is the only camp site we have ever been to where you are offered a hot drink on arrival.Even the two girls were catered for with squash.Jon and Terri - the owners could not have been more helpful and the view from the caravan changed daily as fields were cut or ploughed by farmers. The camp site itself is central to all surrounding areas and was in easy reach of the local beaches which we were pleased to say were even dog friendly. We all had a fantastic holiday and will definitely be returning in the future.
Thanks to Jon and Terri for a fantastic holiday, company good and the friendliest site we have ever stayed on. Would recommend to all. 10/10

We arrived at the campsite for the first time in our Burstner Motorhome to be greeted by Terri & Jon as we entered the site & was offered tea or coffee straight away, what a great greeting we sat and chatted about the site, places to visit nearby you would have thought we where old friends you were made to feel that welcome.
Jon then walked us round the site so we could pick where we wanted to pitch up & also showed us the facilities, Which all met our needs adequately.
The site is in a lovely setting with views over Bodmin moors & in the morning & evening the site comes alive with rabbits playing near the hedge rows.
The site is so well placed to visit loads of places of interest nearby. You have Tintagel, Boscastle, Port Isaac (Doc Martin), Rock, Padstow & many more little Ports to investigate.
Terri & Jon can not do enough to make your stay a pleasant one, Jon book us a table at the White Hart for my 60th birthday & took us down to the pub & collected us later. By the way the service & food at the White Hart is very good & to be recommended.
We booked to stay for 3night but stayed for 5nights it’s that good.
Thanks for everything Terri & Jon, good luck with the dog training. Hope to visit you again next time we come South.

Just back from a very enjoyable week at Rosebud Farm. What a gem of a site, the owners were very friendly and helpful offering advice on everything you would need to know about the area and places to visit. The site itself is situated on a lovely hillside with the most amazing views that you would never tire of looking at day or night whatever the weather. At night the place comes alive it's like watership down with all the rabbits coming out, but so peaceful! all that can be heard most of the time is birdsong and the odd tractor going up the lane. The facilities were adequate for our needs although a new shower block is planned. If you are looking for a peaceful quiet relaxing campsite in North Cornwall then look no further. We will be returning for another visit next time we are down that way.

We were given a useful tour of the site and facilities and were able to choose from a variety of pitches. Visibility was poor due to a thick sea mist, but when it cleared a while after we pitched our tent, the view across cornwall was stunning. We really enjoyed our 5 nights at Rosebud, a great spot for visiting north cornwall and beyond. You guys obviously work hard at keeping the site well presented, grass mown, loo's and showers were always clean. We applaud your general ethos of keeping a quiet and peaceful site. Best of luck with future developments; we hope you can maintain the serene and friendly atmosphere. We would love to return in the future.

  201. We stayed at Rosebud Farm over the Easter break, picked from reading the reviews of the campsite. Our expectations were exceeded. The welcome cup of tea, the lift to the local pub for a meal, the well kept beautiful campsite all helped to ensure we had a wonderful holiday. John is full of knowledge of the area, even down to what time we could get onto the fabulous local beach!! See you next year.

  207. Almost 2 weeks have gone by since we got back from Rosebud Farm, so I thought it was about time to say thanks to Jon & Terri for our holiday on their lovely camp site.

    We are used to staying on Club sites, so a few things struck us about this site;

The friendly service. We were welcomed with a nice cuppa, just what we needed after sitting in the car for 5 or 6 hours!

The uninterupted view and the space, zip open the awning and there was the beautiful panoramic view of the countryside.

The peace and quiet. Even though we were there in the main school summer holidays Jon and Terri limit the number of pitches on the site, so it is nice and quiet, even when it is "fully booked".

Jon was telling me that the toilet/shower facilities were temporary ones and that he is hoping to get permission to build a new block, but we were happy with the existing ones. They are nice and clean, and we liked the family bathrooms. The new block would just be the icing on the cake.

Thanks again John & Terri, hope to see you again next summer.

  208. Jon and Terri..... Thank you for a lovely friendly welcome.
As 1st time campers this site was the perfect place for us although it rained the whole 4 days we were there apart from when we put up and took down the tent !
We only live about 40 min from Rosebud Farm and will be booking again. Thank you for all your help and not laughing when it took us 4 hours to put up our tent, your tips will help us for sure next time we go. Recommend this site 100%, good luck with the new toilet block see you soon !

Very friendly and willing to assist with any question you have about the local area.
Jon even had to help us getting off site when the time came for us to leave as the car had packed in and refused to move :( Recovery vehicle and Jon got us going again though!!!
Will definately be visiting again, fell in love with the site.
Perfect location for rest and relaxation.

  210. For the second year running we stayed at Rosebud Farm for our 2 week annual holiday. The second visit was just as brilliant as the first.
John & Terry are two special people from the cup of tea on arrival to lending the children some body boards, you don't get service like this at any other campsite I have ever been to.
Going to book for next year once we have sorted out the dates. Just need to put the weather forecast in this time. Good luck with the planning permission. See you next year looking forward to it already..

  211. We were here June 2009. Came for a couple of days and stayed for over a fortnight. Bought a new tent this spring as the old one was worn out, hoping to fit a few days with it in Sept. Was a bit worried about the site being too crowded when I read the guestbook as everyone had been on the same date until I read Jon and Terri's comment at the bottom!
Thinking that St Teath might be a long drive for only a few days - could be worth it though!

  212. Rosebud Farm should now be renamed: 'Rosebud Health Farm'.

For a relaxing and rejuvenating stay look no further than this Site.

The air is clean, the views magnificent and at night the sky is full of stars, something you don't normally see with all the light pollution.

Marvellous place for 'bird watchers' and anybody who loves nature.

The toilets and showers are kept spotlessly clean, even when there had been inclement weather.

The Site owners Jon & Terri are special.

We found everything perfect, perfect site, perfect peace, perfect hosts and we would not hesitate to recommend this site to other campers.

Look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

  214. Just got back from two lovely weeks at Rosebud Farm and we are already planning our next visit. The site has amazing views over the local countryside to Roughtor and the facilities are quite sufficient for our needs. If you are looking to book here, here are some things you should know:

1 - If you have any boisterous family members (including the ones with paws), dont bring them here! This is a quiet site at all times and R & R are the keywords.
2 - If you want to chill out, really relax and use this as a good base to see Cornwall then this is the place for you.

To Jon & Terri, thank you for making us feel so welcome and looking after us so well.

    See you next year!

  232. What a campsite, the best site we have ever stayed at in all our years of camping. Owned & managed by Jon & Terri who are welcoming, friendly & helpful, In fact we didn't want to return home and we live in a beautiful village ourselves. The site as the most beautiful well kept grass we have ever come across and the view's are literally to die for. We were welcomed with a lovely cuppa and a chat the morning of our arrival, then shown around their beautiful campsite. This campsite is a rarity, not just because of the cuppa on arrival and departure, but because Jon & Terri aim to keep the site as it is a quiet and relaxing one. If you like a noisy holiday this site is NOT for you.
They are in the process of hopefully getting planning permission for a new toilet block, so fingers crossed both. In the meantime we used the basic facilities on the site.
You know when you go to a campsite and you have the best toilet block out which you find as won numerous awards but when you get there you find it's never cleaned. Well worry no more, basic facilities maybe but well looked after, maintained and cleaned everyday. One door led you into your own little bathroom with a sink, loo and shower.....I felt like I was at home in my my own bathroom. The other door led to 2 toilets and another self contained bathroom.
All those QUIET campers out there, what are you waiting for head off to St Teath, not only a beautiful village, but a beautiful campsite too.
Thanks Jon & Terri, can"t wait to return. (GET KETTLE ON).......Love Angie & Martin.

You could easily plan your whole holiday using Jon and Terri’s website, there is just so much to do all within a few miles.
The facilities were lovely and clean and the site has spectacular views. We keep a notebook of sites we have been to listing the good and bad points and if we would return to it, we would definitely return to Rosebud, you just couldn’t wish for a warmer welcome.

  264. FANTASTIC!!! We stayed with Jon and Terri for 5 nights and at the end of our 2 week holiday tour of Cornwall wish we had stayed at Rosebud Farm for the entire time. The cup of tea on arrival after 5 hours in the car was most welcome but the friendly faces even more so. We worried at first about the "No Noise rule" due to the Valley below as we have a 2 and a half year old but Jon and Terri put our minds to rest and explained that toddler noise is understood!! Two weeks later and our little girl is still telling people about her lawnmower ride with Jon across the field - it made her holiday. The family bathrooms are a brilliant idea and were always extremely clean. Jon and Terri offered fantastic advice on the best beaches (one which is now my favourite place I have ever been too) and the free hire of a bucket and spade and bodyboard was a lovely gesture. I cannot speak highly enough of this campsite and we will definately be returning. A huge thank you to Jon and Terri for making our holiday - we stayed at 4 campsites over the 2 weeks and Rosebud Farm was by far the best we visited.

  271. Just returned from 5 days stay at Rosebud Farm. The coffee on arrival was gratefully received and put me at ease straight away. The site is simple and stunning in its location. Was disappointed that there was no clubhouse, bingo, disco or chip van but soon got over that. This place is what camping is all about. Leave the rat race behind and truly relax in this fabulous location. Trebarwith Strand is stunning and enjoyed losing myself whilst watching the rollers crash onto the rocks. The beach at low tide is another place too; rock pools, caves and acres of sand and surf. Jon and Terri deserve to succeed as their way of running and managing Rosebud Farm is warm, welcomming and there are no officious signs here. Have booked for 2 weeks in July and am looking forward to my return with my 3 boys. See you soon Richard.

  272. We have just returned from Rosebud after a fantastic 4 night stay. The site itself is stunning with great views across the valley and the surrounding countryside. There were plenty of flat pitches to choose from on this immaculately groomed large 5 acre site. It was wonderful to have the freedom to choose our pitch and also have the space between units that Rosebud is able to offer. The local area had plenty to keep us busy, with the coastal path, great surfing beaches and fantastic pubs. Most memorable however, was the hospitality of Jon & Terri. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome with the offer of transport to and from the pub in the local village as well as allowing us to join them on a tour of the better pubs in the area on our last night. Not only was this the best site we have stayed in for a long time, but we also thoroughly enjoyed the company of our new friends in Jon & Terri. We will definitely be back again soon!

  273. Had a wonderful few days at the campsite with our Motor Home. Jon & Terri\'s hospitalitality was second to non. Site exceptionally well maintained with fantastic views. At first sight field looks to be sloping but in fact there are lots of level pitches and it is the first time we did not need to use levelers. Superb transport service provided by Jon enabled us to see much more of the area than we otherwise would! Good luck with your future plans we\'ll be back one day.

  274. Last Sunday we set out for three days of walking a section of the Cornish coast and chose Rosebud farm for our first day because it is only twenty minutes from the coast path. We didn’t need to move again. As we discovered, Jon regularly offers transport pick-ups for walkers – he collected us from Port Quin after one walk and Tintagel after another. We were surprised and delighted by this service and we achieved much more than we hoped for. Oh, and the previous feedback is all true – the welcome cups of tea from Terri and Jon, the really open vistas across to Rough Tor, the quiet site, the good facilities. Thanks for making our trip so memorable

  276. I stayed at Rosebud Farm on the first night of my journey from Lands End to John O Groats. I arrived late in the afternoon and was welcomed by Jon, even before i got chance to pay him he had made me a cuppa, what a welcome.
I was amazed then to find that he had booked me a table at the local village pub where a wonderful meal and friendly company made the evening short. I met Teri later when Jon came to collect me from the pub, absolutely charming couple....
In closing, I would happily recommend this site to anyone, the pitches are well maintained and the facilities are first class, the views are stunning (especially at sunrise).
Best regards and thankyou Jon and Teri.

  277. This has to be one of the most pleasant camping sites that we have stayed on in our six years of camping.. Teri & Jon are the most accomodating hosts that you could wish to meet. What a smashing couple! After welcoming us with a cup of tea. They even fetch and carry their campers to the local pub. We will definitely be visiting again as soon as possible.

  278. What can I say. We had a great welcome from Jon & Terri. The site was one of the best we have ever been on very clean, Quiet (untill our dogs went out) and the view was out of this world.
As for Jon not only did he ferry us down to the pub in the village for a meal he is also a very good mechanic. The gearbox linkage cable went on our car. He got straight on the phone ordered one for us, lent us his car to go to collect it but took the snapped on of and put the new one on. We cannot thank him enough. We will surely be back. Thank you both for a memorable time and the help you both gave us. See you next year hopefully...Colin & Sue

  280. Wonderful time at Rosebud Farm. We stayed 9 nights -16th-25th August, and although the weather was a little on the wet side, the welcome from John and Terri was warm enough to make that factor insignificant! Facilities were always clean (met Terri in there on a number of occasions), help always offered - especially in the hunt for wellies, and a "hello" always given. Thanks for a wonderful time, hope to come back in the future.

  281. A big thank you to Jon & Terri for making us feel so welcome. We stayed at Rosebud From 11th - 22nd Aug & although it rained nonstop with galeforce winds w still had a good time. A great peaceful family run camp site, just a shame about the weather. Would recommend this site to everyone. As we were leaving to come home Jon & Terri came to the car to say goodbye & wish us a good journey.... a journey that would normally take us 5 hours, but took us 8 hours. Next time we come to Cornwall we hope to bring better weather with us. We hope to see Jon & Terri again.

  282. well it does what it says on the tin, scenic, peaceful, family run site, perfect!
the cup of tea on arrival and departure was just the icing on the cake. weather was pretty bad at the start of the week but we had fun sliding through the the mud into the field! it soon drained though and finished the week with some lovely sun.
keep up the good work both of you and hope to see you next year.

  283. Rosebud is a lovely site with fantastic views and a very warm welcome from the owners Jon & Terri. The cup of tea on arrival was most welcome and the customer care throughout our week's stay (3-10 Aug) was second to none. The site is in a very peaceful location and ideal for discovering the north Cornwall coast. It is a very well maintained site with excellent drainage (sadly an important factor again this summer). Would definitely recommend it to other campers.

  284. Epic view. Even when it was raining, I was happy to just sit, eat breakfast and gaze across the immense landscape which the site overlooks. If anything, during our stay, the dark clouds and drifting mist made the view even more worthwhile. Owners are friendly and immensely customer-centric. No worries about late night walks home from the pub, as we got a free lift to the pub and a lift back at the time we requested.

  285. We stayed at Rosebud Farm from 26/07 to 09/08, a total of 14 nights. The welcome was great, a cup of tea for us all from Jon, most welcome after a 9 hour nightmare journey. Both he and Terri are a minefield of information and we've never met any other site owners so friendly. The bathrooms etc are immaculate, even when the weather has been atrocious and the field is wet. Having said that, the field does drain very well, no pitches had problems with mud or standing water. The site is ideally situated for getting anywhere in Cornwall and the setting is amazing. We will definitely be staying again. Best regards to you both.

  286. What a great campsite! Wonderful location, setting, facilities, it's all been said & we can certainly vouch for that. Even the tent pegs go straight in! The icing on the cake though, was the friendly easy-going attitude of the owners, who made us feel instantly welcome.

  287. I really couldn't sell this site and John and Terri more, but suffice to say the wellbeing of their campers is paramount to the two of them and they live and breathe customer satisfaction. From the cups of tea on arrival to the lifts to and from the pub at no charge to the assistance offered at the drop of a hat, our stay was truly memorable. Thanks again to the two of you and for just being 'you'.
See you again...Ben and Liz x

Great for people in tents as it has all the clean facilities you need and any rain soon drains away. Jon and Terry were a mind of useful information and were very kind. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  291. Rosebud is a lovely site. I stayed there with some friends for a couple of nights 4th & 5th July at a time when the weather was atrocious, however, when I arrived after a long drive Jon made a welcome cup of coffee and showed me to a pitch where I would get the maximum protection from the 40/50 m.p.h. winds that were blowing. His advice was spot on and I pitched the tent in shelter from the strong winds. There was no avoiding the rain, which came down for 36 hours without stopping, but the great thing was despite all the rain there were no signs water logged pitches or of any mud. The drainage on site is superb. The bathrooms were lovely and clean and well maintained. As an added bonus Jon drove us down to St. Teath and then picked us up at the end of the night. That is true customer service. The site is ideally located for the local attractions in the area and has some stunning views. I shall definitely be going back to this site.

  292. My stay was from 3 June 2008 until 15 June 2008.What a fantastic site and what great people Jon and Terri. Nothing is too much trouble, apart from being greeted with a cup of tea and lots of very useful local information, Jon is a miracle worker with all the things a gal doesn't understand, like cross threaded stabiliser screws and caravan electrics. The views from the site are breathtaking and the location is superb for visiting all the attractions. The Eden project and the Lost Gardens of Helligan are within easy reach as is the beautiful north Cornwall coastline. This is a friendly site, meticulously kept, thank you for using a mower that collects the grass, and the owners are the best I have met in 30 years of caravanning.

  293. Just a quick note to say a hearty thank you for your very kind hospitality. Had a super time at Rosebud Farm. John and Terri were very helpful when we arrived tired and even helped us pitch! Port Isaac and Padstow were favourite visits and Rosebud is wonderfully peaceful - overlooking the northern part of Bodmin Moor. Will be back in the Spring! xx

  294. Only just found this message site otherwise I would have written before. We stayed on your campsite for 5 days in early September, with our dog, Tag all on our own in the top field (Green Honda CRV & small trailer tent designed for a M/C - remember?). We had a most relaxing stay and a much needed rest. You made us very welcome and it was such a change and a pleasure to deal with real people who provide what they promise. Lovely site, nice and quiet but we had to leave with our little trailer tent a day early because Tag was over heating!! We would love to come back on our GoldWing with the trailer tent but I don't knoiw if we can make it in 2008, depends on many things (including Tag who is sadly getting very old now). Happy New Year to you both and thanks for making our stay as enjoyable as it was. I think you have got it right and I see you have now structured your pricing, which is strill quite reasonable, so nice to see you are not greedy like some folk are. All the best for the future of your site, James and Julie.

  297. This site has beautiful views and is in a peaceful location. The owners are most friendly and do a lot to make "their" campers feel at home. Excellent and reasonable priced pub food in nearby St Teath. First time we have stayed for two weeks at one site, as we usually move around, but still found plenty to do in both rain and sunny conditions. Will definately come back here!

  299. Just got back from spending a week touring Cornwall visiting a different campsite every night. This was by far the nicest we visited. spacious pitches, clean facilities with great views across the rolling cornish countryside. The whole site is well maintained and is an ideal base for visiting Tintagel,Bostcastle,Trebarwith strand,Port issac and probably more if we had time. We liked it so much we changed our plans and stayed an extra night but unfortunately had to come back. Owners very friendly and seem to know what camping should be about. I will be seeing them again next year no doubt!!!

Jon and Terri are fantastic hosts, willing to go out of thier way to make your stay all the more memorable. I would reccomend this for families, couples, or if you just want to get away from it all. 5 mins drive from a fantastic beach, and near major roads to help you get around cornwall! Nothing like watching the swallows swooping to make it all the more picture perfect! I will def be coming back next year, with even better facilities then the excellent ones provided! 5 star in my book!
